Tengan Pounds 3 HR Against Knights!

Todd Tengan penned his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against Gotham. He's now among the select sluggers who have hit three home runs in a game.

In his record-setting day at Bayview Stadium the San Francisco first baseman went 3-4 with 6 RBIs and scored 3 times in the 8-3 victory over the Knights.

"It was just one of those days," he told the SION sportswriters in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."

"Tengan was locked in," the Gotham skipper said. "We made some pretty good pitches. Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's pretty hot right now. He's pretty locked in. You've just got to tip your hat."

T. Tengan grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off T. Rodgers in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off T. Rodgers in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off V. Williamson in the 8th.

To date this year Tengan is batting .343 with 11 home runs.

Broadnax Tags Number 500

At Linehan Park Richard Broadnax smashed his 500th career home run in a game against New Orleans today. The 37-year-old third baseman had a hand in the Miami Catfish 8-6 victory with 1 home run and 2 RBI. For the day he went 2 hits-5 at-bats.

At the press conference after the game, Broadnax downplayed his achievement.

"Obviously, I've hit 500 home runs so I belong in that 500 Club. But when you talk about the other guys that have done it, I'm not as good as they were. Those guys were the greatest of all time. I've just been able to scrape together some good years and stayed healthy and gotten there."

Broadnax has a lifetime .273 batting average and .370 on-base percentage in his 2036-game career with 1965 hits and 500 home runs.

Heath Sidelined, Listed DTD by St. Louis

Reports out of St. Louis indicate that Jimmy Heath, the gifted right fielder, might be sidelined for 1-2 weeks or so with bruised ribs. The 27-year-old star suffered the injury in yesterday's Express-Storm game while colliding with a player at a base. "It's a game time decision," noted the team doctor, "It all depends on how Jimmy feels later today. If he can play, he will."

Posting a .349 batting average to date, Heath has 6 home runs and 46 RBIs.
